Online Bingo Market Looks Towards Europe as New Engine for Growth in Bingo

The recent passage of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) in the United States on November 11th, 2006 has had significant effects on the online gaming industry in the U.S.. As a result, the online gaming industry has influenced some of the online companies' policies and turned their focus to other areas of growth aside from the U.S. market.

While some companies have looked to Europe as the new area for growth in the online gambling industry, those who have benefited most from it are online bingo games, which some analysts even called the "new online poker" due to its rapidly expanding popularity in all parts of the world. The largest gaming operators around the world, like PartyGaming 888, Paddy Power and Ladbrokes now have their own bingo label, while other well-known names such as Butlins, Virgin, Magic FM, Top Sante and the Sun Newspaper have also explored the potential ability of bingo as a top profit producer by opening their own sites.

Executives of the industry from the CEO of Bingo.com, Think Bingo and Bingos.co.uk, will be attending a conference in London about the changes in the market on December 7th, 2006. Tarrnie Williams of Bingo.com, a speaker at the upcoming event, said that this is the right time to join hands and explore the hidden potential of these new resources together, especially in Europe, and think about new strategies and plans for this new phase in the industry.

The conference will take place as a part of the Bulletin Europe Summit, which will be the last conference of this year for the major key players in the online and even land based gaming companies, to ponder on the potential of the European market in the upcoming year.
