Gala Bingo Player Wins 202,000 Pound Jackpot Prize

December 3, 2006 can be considered the busiest day at the Gala Bingo Hall located in Feltham. Aside from the exclusive event by chart-leaders G4, one of the members of the Gala Bingo Club won a 202,000 pound Jackpot Prize.

The lucky winner was a 54 year-old woman, a resident of Lower Sunbury, who was reluctantly persuaded by her daughter to play bingo that day. The winner, who asked to remain nameless due to security reasons, was at the Gala Club at Air Park Way, Feltham on Sunday evening when she was blessed by lady luck. She won the National bingo game Prize of 200,000 pounds, as well as the regional prize of 1,773 pounds. In addition, she won the Gala Bingo Hall prize of 275 pounds, having completed the Blackout game in just 38 calls, the lowest number of calls in 500 participating clubs in the National Bingo Game.

According to the winner, she was unable to sleep after winning because it was so shocking and unbelievable to her. She said that before winning the money, she was thinking of getting a job before February, but now the money that she has won can sustain her until she is 65 years old. The winner has 2 sons, 2 daughters and 6 grandchildren.

She even said that her partner might start playing bingo now because of her win. The winner also mentioned that she only began playing bingo last September. Her youngest daughter is the one who encouraged her to play with her as a sort of night out with her and the children. At first, she did not like the idea, but eventually she give in. The winner said that she may owe her win to her 6 year-old granddaughter because she is the one who found a 1 pound coin on Friday and gave it to her grandmother for good luck. Then that day, she won. She is planning to give 25 pounds to her granddaughter.
