FarePak Incident Victims Win 100,000 Pound Jackpot Prize

6 close friends from the town of Fife were on their yearly shopping trip to Newcastle when they struck it big at the Gala Bingo Hall on December 1, 2006. Almost all of them, except for the one who actually won the prize, lost money in Farepak Vouchers when the Christmas Savings Company went completely broke.

They then made a promise to one another that if any of them won the prize, they would share the money with each other. The group has been going to Newcastle together for 9 years now. One of them, a 56 year-old Nursing Auxiliary from the town of Glenrothes, won the 100,000 pound National Bingo Game Jackpot Prize after completing the Bingo Full House that Friday night.

She also received 80 pounds from the Gala Bingo Hall as a house prize. The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, said that this win was really unexpected and you would think that it could only happen to you in your dreams. She went on to say that she will only believe it when she sees the check. She added that her friends lost most of their money because of the Farepak Vouchers and she was fortunate to be with a different company.

She and her friends are no longer worried about the Christmas Season. Dave Robson, Manager of the Gala Bingo Hall, said that the women, 5 of which are from the Kirkcaldy area, went absolutely crazy when the club announced how much they had won. Georgina Palmer, Spokeswoman for the National Bingo Game, said that the group was very excited about their big win and they were soon off for some shopping.
