Bingo Resumes at St. Thomas by the Sea
Bingo Games will resume at the St. Thomas Catholic Church on Thursday, December 28, 2006 and continue every Thursday of the month throughout the month of March. The doors of the St. Thomas Catholic Church will open at 5:00 p.m. with the Early Bird games at 5:30 p.m. The Regular bingo games start at 6:30 p.m. Food and drinks are available inside the hall.
The St. Thomas Catholic Church is located at 26547 Perdido Beach Blvd., Orange Beach. All of the proceeds raised in the bingo game will be donated to Mary's Shelter, a home for pregnant women in need. The shelter is located in Elberta and is already the home of 5 women, 3 infants and 3 toddlers, with other babies on the way already.
The shelter provides a safe, peaceful environment for pregnant women while they await the birth of their children. The shelter also provides counseling and programs that include parenting, childcare, housekeeping and money management. In order to help them mature in character and develop their sense of responsibility, career planning and job training are also available to the mothers-to-be.
