Bingo Player Wins the 200,000 UK Pound Jackpot at the Mecca Bingo Hall in Islington

On November 8th, 2006, a bingo player, who works as a teaching assistant from Islington, jumped for joy when she won over 200,000 UK pounds at the National bingo game. The very lucky 37 year-old mother of two, who asked not to be named for security reasons, was playing at the Mecca Bingo Hall near Islington when she won the huge prize.

Aside from the Jackpot Prize, the very lucky teaching assistant also won the 1,522 UK pound regional prize, as well as the house prize worth 153 UK pounds. The winner was able to win the prize at 34 numbers, the lowest call in all of the 500 clubs that were playing nationwide.

The winner was not able to sleep at all on the night that she won because of all the excitement surrounding her big win. She further added that she does not know what she will do with her winnings yet, besides remodeling her kitchen and spending some for the upcoming holidays.

According to Richard Fleming, the general manager of the Mecca Bingo Hall, which is located on Essex Road, the winner was jumping up and down in excitement because 34 is a really low number, so there is a good chance that she will win the National Bingo Jackpot Prize. When he got the results from the other clubs around the country via radio, he led her up the stage to announce to the other players that she was the winner. Everybody was really enthusiastic about it, clapping and cheering for her.

When he announced that she won the jackpot prize, the winner just went nuts and hugged him. Richard Fleming added that it is every bingo player's dream and wish to win the big one and the 200,000 UK pound tax free jackpot prize is not bad. The winner was back playing bingo at the hall a couple of nights after her win and it seems that she has gained celebrity status.
